Re: seeking advice - please respondFrom: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Sep 3 19:36:49 2007
Are you on any kind of birth control right now or did you just get off the pill? I am wondering because doctors put me on the pill when I was 17 to "stop" cysts from forming and I swear, I got WAY more cysts ON the pill than without being on the pill. I would get them every 6 months on the pill! I have been off of it for 5 years now and have only had 2 cysts. I think synthetic estrogen has a lot to do with us getting cysts all the time. Maybe if you've stopped bc pills, you will stop getting them. Mine have always gone away on their own after about a month. I think the bio-identical progesterone I'm on helped supress my estrogen and balance my hormones and that is why I have not had as many cysts. If you have too much estrogen in your body, that could be the cause. I suggest to everyone on here to get their hormones tested. Getting them balanced fixes alot of things, then you can go from there. It helped me soo much! I don't believe that women should kill all of their hormones with dangerous drugs such as Lupron. I just don't see how that can be healthy for your body to go through that. I think only the estrogen needs to be supressed. That's what a couple of good doctors have told me also. I know that I am way better off than I was when I was on the pill - I was so miserable. I hope this gives you some answers.
