ovulation pain/left side pain

Hello all,

I have seen messages before on this forum in which people have said they have more pain in their left side--is this true for many people? Also, do you experience it more around ovulation?

I am just trying to figure out what is going on with me. I had periodic pain in my lower left abdomen for a while--various tests showed nothing (this was before I was diagnosed with endo). Then last fall I had really severe pain & went to the ER--my colon was inflamed & they thought it might be perforated. So, a few more months of tests--which showed nothing wrong with my GI system. Then I had a lap in March & was diagnosed with Stage 2 endo, & the doctor removed as much as he could (except a piece on the rectum).

I've been pretty discouraged since my period pain has not improved since the surgery & I have not been able to conceive yet (total of 17 months trying, 6 months since surgery). And I notice more pain around ovulation. I don't know if I had it before surgery & am just noticing now because i am aware of the endo, or if it has only developed recently. I feel like I am inflamed & this is preventing pregnancy.

But I get confused because of what happened with my colon. I've still had left side pain since that episode, though never anything that has brought me to the hospital again. I kind of assume the colon problem has to do with the endo.

for those who have ovulation pain, how long does it last? Mine seems to be for a few days up until ovulation. I have also had nausea, severe heartburn/gas, indigestion sometimes around that time. This is really annoying esp since we are always having sex around that time & I don't always feel well.

And, for those who have had ovulation pain with endo, were you able to conceive?

Sorry for all the questions; I am just discouraged. I really don't want to go on Lupron since that means stopping trying for a while--plus my pain is not unbearable. My doctor just suggested it as a possible means of reducing inflammation. But that seems like a pretty big deal--going through temporary menopause for months on the off-chance that it will help me conceive in the future. I am 30 years old & the idea of putting my body through that just seems so weird to me. It's hard for me to believe that is the only answer to my fertility problems.

Has anyone here taken steroids/anti-inflammatory drugs?

Thanks, Carolyn
