Hi Guys, I too have endometriosis. Lisa I was reading you are thinking of having your uterus removed...I really wouldnt recommend this as there really are things that can help. I would urge you to think about getting Mirena (IUS) inserted. I am under the best endo specialist in nz and he introduced me to mirena as i had already had a laproscopy n endo excised, when 5 months later it was found i had it in my womb - mirena shrinks the endo in the womb. It is quite a painful procedure to have an IUS or IUD inserted - so i would almost advise to have it done under general anaesthetic. It is however a very short procedure so you wouldn't need to be asleep for long. After approx 3 months the affects are amazing!!! Not only that but it is honestly the best contraception ive ever used - i have had none of the side effects that have presented themselves with other contraceptives, e.g. weight gain, headaches, nausea, acne...... as the hormone is excreted locally.

Moving on from that, I recently had another op for removal of endo due to a pain in my right side, where my scar from the previous op is. My specialist found nothing at that sight, but found some endo deep in my bowel. I still have this pain on my right side, it even hurts if i hav pants on that are a bit tight - I know its not endometriosis and the site is too small an incision site for it to be a hernia. Any idea what it could be? has anybody had a similar problem?
