Re: Denied PPO coverageFrom: M (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jul 27 08:28:28 2007
Hey Jess I have always had problems with getting insurance. I would try to get insurance back when all I was diagnosed with was asthma and anemia and would be told no or some outrageous cost. I started working for this company full time and was able to get great coverage with them. Which was perfect timing because I had to go to so many doctors and I had surgery and they found I had endo. Now at the begginning of this month due to numerous absenses due to health problems I put in a two week notice. I had checked before I did and couldn't get insurance own my own. I was told that I had to go a yr without any problems. Like yourself how do you do that with endo and other health conditions? I elected to keep the COBRA ins for 18 months. Its like $314 a month. I figure in the next six months if I need surgery I should have it so I can try to not go to the docs, etc for a year. I definitely feel your pain. Insurance is supposed to help people, but if you have any medical conditions at all its hard to get coverage. If I hear of anything new thats not $1000 a month for coverage Ill let you know.
