Re: Birth Control Pills for endo

I was on that for about 4-5 months and didn't notice any side effects. My dr. had given me several packs at the office and when those ran out and I went to go get my prescription I found that my co pay was a lot higher for a bc pill that was name brand if there is a generic available so now I am on the generic of loestrin. I didn't notice any side effects. I have been on bc pills for quite awhile and the few I tried right after my lap gave me spotting and the like when I took them continuously but the loestrin and it's generic haven't. I still have pain but it is not to the degree I had before-but that could be do to my lap as well. I think everyone is different-some women can take bc without any problems, others can't. Your best bet is to research and then do your best to decide what is right for you. Some believe bc pills are not the answer and can do more harm than good, some believe they are a God send. It's hard to say what is true and what isn't, what we do know for sure is that some women respond well to bc pills in terms of reducing pain but for some they don't help at all, for some they only help for awhile, and some have trouble with some brands but help with others. All I know is for me, taking that brand continuously, I do not spot unless I miss or am late on a pill, I don't have as much pain as I did previously, but again, i'm sure my surgery played a big part in that as well but I havn't noticed any side effects, including weight gain. I am tired a lot but I don't know if that's the pill, the endo or something else. One lady on here stated that for best results the bc pill you take should be a multi or monophasic-can't remember which one but I remember researching loestrin at the time of that post and finding out that it was the correct one to take according to the other poster-maybe why I spotted with the other pills and not this this one? Hope that helps-good luck.
