Kristen, I have finished my last shot of Lupron recently. (6/27) I had a three month treatment. The first two months were ridiculous. I had more problems with my body while on this stuff than I did before hand. After the first month, I was having such adverse side effects that I went to my doctor pleading him to give me something....add back/anti-depressants..something. He gave me Premerin .625 mg for the add back. It took a couple of days to really begin to help me. But that did help. After the second shot, I became severly bloated (say 3-4 months pregnant...size wise), and nothing would relieve it. I also have a bunch of the 'normal' side effects from Lupron...i.e. weight gain, hot flashes, insomnia, depression, joint/muscle pain, headaches, blurred vision, memory loss, mood swings....to name a few. After I got my last shot, I was still in quite a bit of constant pain...mostly in my legs and sudden pain shots in my pelvic area and my ovaries. After getting my last shot, I informed my doctor that I would never do this to myself again. And he said that he didn't blame me...that most women will go through the treatment once and then swear to never do it again. Now I am waiting to get this stuff out of my system. It will take 1-3 months, I am told before it will be out of my system. Even though some say that the effects of the Lupron can last long after that. I am hoping that it won't. I would rather deal with the pains of Endo than do this. Because the pain I felt with Endo could be relieved more with pain relievers than the pains I got from the Lupron. I don't know if that makes any sense or not. My mind has been largely altered from the Lupron as well. I used to be able to type very easily and quickly, now I make tons of mistakes and often forget what I am trying to say. Hope it made some sense to you. If you have any more questions, please feel free to email me. magdustin@gmail.com Wishing you luck and pain free days ahead, Mags
