Cloth pads reduce pain in some women

Hello ladies, I have been a big promoter of cloth pads, mainly because their disposable alternatives (tampons and maxi pads) contain Dioxin which has a connection to Endometriosis (a report on the FDA site notes that detectable levels of Dioxin are present in manufactured disposable pads and tampons). I made the switch to cloth pads several years ago - they are comfortable, and do not promote the growth of bacteria, yeast infections and rashes (chemicals in disposables promote bacterial growth) I was surprised after switching to cloth pads that my reoccuring yeast infections, which I would get around the time of my period just dissappeared after I started using cloth pads. I noticed that periods were less painful as well and it seems a lot of other women have had the same results (I have read this on forums and from testamonies of women who switched to cloth pads) I was wondering if any of you have considered switching to cloth pads or already use cloth pads and have noticed improvements in things like rashes, yeast infections, and period pain. (Not to mention cloth is so much more comfortable - it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything at all!) Also they are cheaper and better for the environment. Just curious - I discovered that a lot of women had never even heard of cloth pads and alternatives to disposables - I was surpised and wondered why - since as it seems the cloth ones are better for your health in many ways - especially if you have Endo like I do and are worried about the effects of Dioxin.

I'd be interested in what other women think about this - and if any of you have heard of them or know other women who use them - even if you don't use them yourself.

Sincerely, Nicole

P.S. if you want more info on cloth pads and other alternatives to disposables google "cloth pads" or you can check out a company that makes them called "Lunapads" - again do an internet search.
