Becky,

Endometrial ablation is not what is going to tell you the cause of your pain or heavy bleeding is. I would recommend getting some more opinions before proceeding with this. Sometimes it takes getting 4 or 5 opinions before making a decision on treatment for something like this.

I had a small polyp at the top of my cervix in May of 1999 (I'll never forget that year because that May I was in my dr's office every week for that entire month) and my dr removed it right there. I asked my dr what would happen if I didn't have it removed and she said if it was what was causing the bleeding I had then I would have more problems with bleeding.

Yep, polyps can cause heavy bleeding to occur as well.

Please get some more opinions.
