Hi, TrishaFrom: andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jul 10 17:29:00 2007
I want to tell you that I am very sorry if my post upset you, or scared you. That was not my intention at all. I simply want to put that question out there....that what if we ALL could have stopped this endo from growing in us years ago? So many docs and research has told me that estrogen causes foreign cells in your body to grow, including endo or cancer. I want the younger generatioin to have an option, other than just being on the pill forever! I wish I would have questioned the doctors more when I was young, instead of just putting every pill in my mouth that they prescribed. My younger sister is only 19 and that's what doctors are doing to her, putting her on the pill indefinately. I worry for her!! I told her she is having a lot of symptoms of estrogen dominance and should get tested. I don't want her to end up with the severity of endo that I have - it is everywhere, including my bowels, bladder, ovaries, and inside my uterine muscle. Taking the progesterone lessened my days of pain from 4-5 to 2-3 and I no longer had hair loss, depressioin, and many of those other things I listed. If you only have 3 symptoms, that may not be the case with you. I am glad the pill relieves some of your symptoms, you are lucky. 5 other women have replied to me saying they have almost ALL of those symptoms, though. Hopefully, they can get some relief by just taking some progesterone. I can't even take BC pills anymore. I tried a couple years ago (for actual BC), and they made me extremely sick. I just want to let everyone know there is a healthier, safer alternative to helping endo. Using BC pills for actual birth control for a few years I think is ok, but they shouldn't be given to EVERYONE as a way to help periods. p.s. Your doc has to test your progesterone level on a certain day of your cycle, or it will not be accurate. I think right before your period is when they tested mine. It should be at least a 14 or higher. Good luck and thanks for reading. Take Care, Andrea :)
