Re: The Cause of Endometriosis... PLEASE TAKE A LOOK

Hi, Erica. I will always wonder that very question. If my progesterone was naturally low and estrogen high when I hit puberty, or being on the pill screwed all of it up and CAUSED my endo. Doctors sure as hell won't take the blame now. My doctor told me that any additional estrogen you put in your body (i.e. the pill) raises your estrogen level and lowers your progesterone level. I think if my endo wasn't already there, that taking progesterone would've stopped my endo from growing all these years. I just know it helps me a lot now. Look at all the $ we have spent on BC pills...I calculated about $6000 for me. It's like they started us on the pill so later we would have to take all this other stuff to combat the endometriosis that it would cause....did doctors not know back then that estrogen causes endo? All the pill did was make us bleed less, but our pain kept getting worse! It makes me so mad!

I am supposed to have excision surgery in August, but keep having second thoughts...I'm afraid of having other complications.
