Re: bleeding after lapFrom: mdustin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jul 3 12:49:25 2007
Hi. Is this your first lap? I had my first lap in March and like you, I was nervous. I even cried while I was going under. Surgery can be scary. But you have to put yourself into the hands of someone who can help you sometimes...which is very difficult to do. I understand. Continue to research! That will really do the most good out of anything...being informed. Talking with other women who have been through this also helps. One thing that I can say...make sure you have someone with you, not only do they strongly suggest that someone else is with you for the first 24 hours after surgery, but I suggest the first 2 days after. I really needed help getting up and down stairs and getting to the bathroom. Plus, they will give you pain meds to get you through the pain, if you need it. These will also impair you to do some things for yourself, such as cooking and whatnot. If this is your first lap, it is probably being done to diagnose you? This is the only 'true' way to diagnose. I wish you luck and stregnth to get you through. If you have any questions, I'm always here to help. Try not to be too nervous. ~Mags
