How long have you been with your co? Are you full time? Are you familiar with the Family and Medical Leave Act?

I retrieved this info from the department of labor website.

SEC. 102. LEAVE REQUIREMENT. (a) IN GENERAL.-- (1) ENTITLEMENT TO LEAVE.--Subject to section 103, an eligible employee shall be entitled to a total of 12 workweeks of leave during any 12-month period for one or more of the following: ...D) Because of a serious health condition that makes the employee unable to perform the functions of the position of such employee.
