Hi Melissa~

I am sorry to hear this for you. Hopefully, they sincerely know that you are trying everything in your power to work through all this and be there for them too. Maybe the different division position will be a little easier than this position. Let's hope so.

It stinks to have to worry about this on top of all you are dealing with. Let's pray this weekend offers some realistic solutions for you and they have a good plan to keep you in the organization in a new capacity.

As for the insurance maybe getting some individual policy quotes can be helpful? I know sometimes the big companies like Blue Cross, Aetna, Uni-Care and others have individual policies for those who don't have access to affordable healthcare or their policies can be cheaper than a COBRA plan if it comes to that. I know all their plans and benefits are all over the place depending on the company. The nice thing is if you find one with a good rate (which will take some really good searching due to cheaper rates one gets with a group health plan) you can usually roll into their plan without any pre-exisiting condition waiting periods because you already have a policy in place.

Maybe calling an insurance broker is an option too so they can start getting various quotes for you from different companies behind the scenes. You can tell them you heard there may be a company lay off and can they help you get some quotes now to see if there is anything affordable vs. Cobra or cheaper rates, etc.

Here is a link to maybe jump start some of the research options.

Just know I am thinking of you. I hope you have a good weekend without too much worry.

Thinking of you..
