20 years old - 2 surgeries already - oophorectomy recommendedFrom: ChristiMarie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 29 14:10:45 2007
Hello everyone. My name is ChristiMarie and I am 20 years old. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2004 after being hospitalized with unknown pelvic pain. I first had a laporoscopy where not only did they find endometriosis, they also found a fibroid tumor on my right fallopian tube. I had abdominal surgery a few months later to remove the tumor, which was benign, and laser off the endo that was there. Shortly after surgery I was placed on birth control pills to regulate my period, yet every month I was in extreme pain. For the past year or so I have been to the emergency room every month because the pain was so horrible I could not stand or even sit up right without crying. I saw an OBGYN recently who put me on Seasonel so that the bad pain would only come 4 times a year. I have moderate pain constantly, however it is especially bad on my period... which due to the seasonel now has lasted about 5 weeks... and counting. I've been taking percocet for the pain but I can't take it all the time due to constipation, among other health problems it causes. Which really, just makes it all worse in the long run. I am currently waiting on the lovely state of Florida to either approve or deny my application for medicaid. Since it's so hard to work right now, I can't get group health coverage and due to my weight that I put on after my surgeries... also most companies that actually will insure me are either VERY expensive or don't cover any gynecologic procedures for the first year. I went in to see if I qualified for a study medication this morning, but my BMI is too high. Oh, if anyone wants to try that out and qualifies the site for that is http://www.petalstudy.com. Never know, it might help someone else. Well anyway, I was wondering if there is ANYTHING that can be done that some of you may know of, either homeopathically or procedures. I do not want my ovaries removed yet. I still want children one day and I am not in the right place to have them at this time. But I also want my life back. I want to be able to go to school and work like a normal human being and not be cooped up in my apartment on my couch and/or bed all day. Please help. -ChristiMarie
