Re: how long after a lap....From: April (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jun 28 18:53:36 2007
Be sure to ask your doctor at the time of the lap-it may depend on how many incisions they need to make and how much work they do. I just had a lap a month ago, and I think you could shower immediately but had to wait a few days for taking a bath, but double check with your doctor. It probably also depends on how long you will be in the water (I am assuming less than an hour?). Good Luck (Hope all goes well with your surgery-and for gas pain I would take frequent small walks, lay with a pillow under my bottom, and used a heating pad, and tums-it was still uncomfortable, but more tolerable than the last 2 times-I know you didn't ask, but otherwise you may have wished you had). Again Good Luck:)
