Re: Protruding abdomenFrom: mdustin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Jun 28 08:31:38 2007
I have had this problem since I had my daughter via c-section, 3 years ago. Directly after my c-section, while coming out of the meds that numb your lower half of your body, I realized that I was coming out of this numbing pain, but my right side was killing me. I kept quietly screaming, anyone who has done this, knows what I'm talking about. I wanted to scream aloud but afraid to. Since then, my right side is always larger, puffier than my left side. My pain that I feel from my Endo is mostly on my right. My doctor always thinks that maybe it's my appendix, but it's not. My appendix would have burst by now. My Endo, however, was found on my left side, my left ovary. But even after my surgery, my pain is still mostly located on my right. They call it 'referred pain'. But I still think that is ridiculous. My right side is always puffy and sometimes when I press on it, it's hard to the touch, harder than my left side atleast. I also get bloated to the point of looking pregnant, and I cannot get rid of it. I've taken water pills, however they have stopped working. The birth control that I think you mean is called Yaz. (Yasmin is a different type of birth control pill.) The Yaz has a different hormone in it. I was going to try it as it was the only birth control that I haven't yet, but right before I was going to switch, is when my doctor did my lap surgery. So, I cannot tell you if it helps Endo. I have been wondering about that as well. Due to my excessive bloating and urinary frequency and urgancy, my mother wants me to get the CA-125 test done. I have not yet, but I hopefully will get up the courage in the near future to do so. I would ask your gyn about Yaz. Good luck and let us know how it works out! ~Maggie
