Re: Anxiety about infertility...From: April (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue Jun 19 19:41:09 2007
Manda, I had an easier time with my second child than I did with my first. I was 17 when I was diagnosed and the doctors told me to try to get pregnant-I tried for 3 years and had given up-I told myself that God would allow me to be a mother when he felt I was ready. On my 20th birthday I conceived my daughter (now 8 years old). In Jan 2003-I had my 2nd laparoscopy revealing stage 3 endo. The OBGYN advised either yo get pregnant or to go through Lupron injections (I had a hard time with my 1st child-bed rest for 4 months-so I was not eager at that time to have another) I chose Lupron. So after 6 months of Lupron injections I went on ortho evra-the b/c patch, and after 6 months we decided to start trying (I figured it would be 3 years before getting pregnant), 3 weeks after quiting the b/c patch I was pregnant with my son (now almost 3). I would say if you are not sure about getting pregnant-don't, it is a huge responsibility, and if you are not ready-you might resent your child, and that is not right for either of you. When the time is right you will know it, and if it turns out that you can not have children-well there are plenty of them out there that need parents. Infertility is a reality, but at stage 3 a scope/Lupron/Birth control-and a year later pregnant-so there is hope. Have a good night.
