Re: how to prepare for excision surgery.....to D.....From: Amber (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Jun 18 09:51:51 2007
Hi, I had excision at the CEC in February. I had to travel to Atlanta from VA. Luckily the flight was only a couple hours. I had a very good experience there and the results have been amazing, so it is defintley worth the traveling, etc. I had to fight my insurance company for 6 months to go there, I had an HMO, so it can be done. I was not aware I would be doing the bowel prep, I had never done one before, so when they gave me the bag of goods to do that, I wasn't really prepared to spend all afternoon and night in the hotel room, that was the worst part for me, had I known I wouldn't have been so put off by it I am sure. The flight back wasn't so bad. The airport in Atlanta was a little rough. I brought two pillows the hospital gave me and sat on one in the wheelchair and put the other across my lap. After checking baggage, security, etc and getting to the gate I felt pretty bad. I took my pain meds right before I got on the plane again, and once the flight took off I was fine. When I got home I did sleep for several hours, traveling can be tiring even if you hadn't had surgery. My email is ambergail8778@hotmail.com if you have anymore questions, I would be happy to share anything with you. Good Luck!
