Another question before the lap

At the last lap, my obgyn found adhesions and took them down. I have read in some obscure reports that sometimes endo can be hiding underneath the adhesions. I asked at the post op if he had sent it to pathology and he said he didn't.

This time, if there are adhesions again, can I request that he send it to pathology? Is this something that is routine? Does the skill of the lab, determine what the pathology of the adhesion is? Hope that one makes sense. I guess what I mean is if a lab is not skilled in looking at endometriosis cells would they be able to diagnose endo from the adhesions that are sent to them. Or should I ask my obgyn to send the adhesion material (we are suspecting adhesions again) to an outside national lab like quest or something versus small town hospital lab. I would really like any adhesion material to be analyzed. I have never had PID, sexual transmitted diseases or pelvic surgery prior to the last lap (well I had a D&C 8 days pp when I had my daughter but was told that would not cause adhesions). So I didn't have a risk factor for it. I guess I want to know if I ask him to path the adhesion material, I want to know that it is something that is appropriate to request.
