Re: Adenomyosis Symptoms?From: Tracie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Jun 8 10:47:54 2007
I also had a tilted uterus. I had a partial hysterectomy (uterus only) in April 2006. I had severe constant low back which was caused by the adeno. I also had Stage II endo with adhesions. My back pain was gone immediately after having the hysterectomy so I am soooooo glad I decided to have it done, though I know it is not for everyone. I was told the only way to definately diagnose adeno is to to a bisection of the uterus which can only be done by removing it. My doctor suspected I had it because my uterus was enlarged and very spongy and I was having long(2 weeks)heavy and frequent periods(21 day cycle) and constant severe low back pain. I have had some cyclic endo symtoms return but only a couple of days a month and I would say that my pain has been reduced by 90% on those days. The rest of the month I have been pain free. I was well aware that my endo would probably come back because I kept my ovaries BUT I was only 36 and did not want to go into menopause yet. This is something that I discussed with my doctor for months before I made the decision. I have no regrets.
