Re: Hello....HELP!!From: endo (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat Jun 2 22:41:06 2007
Hi,Stephanie, I have also been told numerous times by my GYN that I should take Lupron just to see if it helps and if it does then a hysterectomy would benefit me. I totally disagreed with her. I had my 1st lap to diagnose endo in Dec 06 and I began having the endo pain again the end of Feb 07. I told my GYN first I wanted to try diet and exercise. I tried but probably not hard enough. I also have been seeing a reflexologist and it helps with my stress levels but i don't know about the pain. My pain is almost constant now. I have been so frustrated trying to find an endo specialist here in IL...I did find Dr. Ken Sinervo at Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta GA and I have my excision surgery scheduled for july 25. I will probably have a partial hysterectomy done in addition to the endo being excised. I realize that there is no known cure but I feel this is my best alternative. Dr. Sinervo gave me a 98% chance that I would be pain free if I had the partial hysterectomy done.(best chance I've heard yet!) In my opinion, the lupron is just a bandaid. My GYN basically told me to take this Lupron to stop the spread of endo.(yeah, right) I just wasn't comfortable taking something I knew up front had such terrible side effects. I will be posting on here to let everyone know how my experience was and how I feel afterwards. I pray this will be the beginning of pain free days ahead. I am so glad I have a place like this to go, where someone can truly relate to what I am going through :) I wish you and everyone pain free days!! Charissa
