Help with enlarged inguinal nodes - ectopic endometriosis

I am hoping to gain more professional information than what was posted in 1999 by Lara and response to her message.

I have not been diagnosed with endo.

I have an enlarged lymph node in the right groin area for the last 6 months. 20mm, almost round solid mass. It gets very tender some months starting on 5th day of my period, and gets very painful for 3 and lately more days. I get mild throbbing in the node during some ovulations. I have been aware of the node enlarging for over two years (while off the pill). It used to go completely away, so I accepted my OBGyn conclusion that it's due to an infection from trimming my pubic hair and shaving legs. Over the last 6 months the pain tends to go away, but solid mass remains all the time. I got new ObGyn and she also dismissed the node as from skin infection. I stopped shaving. What would be the reasonable time for the infection to clear and the node get normal? After reading about ectopic endometriosis (Tarada, 2006), where cells grow outside of the uterus along the uterine round ligament into the groin I would feel more comfortable getting the enlarged lymph node checked out. How do I find a specialist in Oakland, CA. So far I only had success finding ObGyn doctors under the Signa network that prescribe ibeprofen and will not refer me to a specialist.

I am in my early 40's, married, no children, had been on the pill many years, off for the last 3. My periods have very heavy bleeding with cramps, but tolerable on 800 mg of ibeprofen ordered by the ObGyn. Otherwise no pains, I live and feel healthy.
