FRUSTRATED...ANYONE ELSE???????From: Carie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu May 31 19:59:53 2007
Ok..I went to eh gyno yesterday and told her everything I was going through..including 2 trips to the ER over the weekend, pain shooting down my legs, and whe I stand up for longer than a few minutes, it feels like everything down there wants to fall out (Anyone else experience that?????)Anyway...she put me on birth control. First of all, it gives me horrendous headaches (and she knows that) she didn't give me an exam or anything. I was diagnosised 7 years ago by a different doctor and she knows my history(pills, laparoscopy, Lupron Depot shots) anyway, it feels like she wants to start at the beginning again, and I can't do that...it's already been too long. I went to another doctor today and she put me on an anti-inflammatory and scheduled me with a specialist. I can't get in there for another month. I guess I have to deal with the pain until then. Why do doctors..gynecologists expecially...not seem to want ot deal with this disease at all??? It is so frustrating when you are in pain to be sent to one doctor after another because they are so ignorant of the disease and don't know how to manage the pain until it becomes so bad that you end up in the ER with a strange doctor who only gives you pain meds to get you through until you can see the doctor when they get in to the office. The cycle is neverending...anyone else been there????????????????????????
-- I was diagnosed about 7 years ago...had the laparoscopy and hormone shots and a lot of pain for about 2 years...I stopped having the pain for a little while (about 5 years), but it is starting up again. I had 3 miscarriages and 1 tubal pregnancy since 1998, and my most recent miscarriage was in February. Since February, my periods have been HORRIBLE. I have seen 3 doctors to determine what the heck is wrong and all they want to say is the endometriosis is starting back up again. The doctor I saw most recently said to me that there is no way I could be in as much pain as I say I am. I am fed up. I just spent my entire Memorial Day weekend in the emergeny room ( 2 times in 2 days) and I have to go back to that same doctor tomorrow. I am fed up. I desperately want to have another child, but the slim chance of me ever getting pregnant again is starting to not be as important as getting rid of the pain. Seriously considering a hysterectomy and i am only 29. Any advice from someone who's been there????? HELP PLEASE
