Hi,

I am not sure that I can give you the best advice because I normally take 3 Advil ever 2 1/2 hours when I am in pain. I have found that if I start taking Advil 2 days before the pain comes (just the normal dosage) that I already have some in my system before the real pain begins which helps to curb the pain. I also found that taking fish oil pills the week before my period and being on a totally wheat free diet has helped. Midol does not do anything for me except make me shakey. My doctor did say it was ok to switch between Advil and Tylenol for instance- take Advil and then when it is time to take it again take Tylenol. I would try to take what ever works best for you 2 days prior to when the pain begins to see if that can make the pain more managebale.
