Accck a second lapFrom: Sabrina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue May 29 19:31:05 2007
Well it looks like I am heading to a second lap. This pain that I have had that came on all of a sudden, while it has lessened in severity is still pretty bad requiring round the clock lortab and motrin. They now think (ER drs and my pcp - ob is out of town) that I had a cyst burst and the contents spilling have irritated the area and caused an adhesion there. I think they are right. The incision from the lap last year has been pinching and pulling to the right for the last couple of days. The pain while it has eased is still pretty bad and there is a lot of pressure that is there. I was in the ER again Friday night and stayed through till Saturday morning. They ran all the tests, all of the scans came back normal. They said it was too late to see the cyst rupture. Maybe if I had gotten an US when it happened or even as late as Monday last week we could have seen fluid. The ER drs suggested a lap to see what is going on. My pcp has agreed with their assessment. I have an appt scheduled on Friday to talk with him about it and see what he thinks. He is pretty conservative so I don't know if he will do it. But I just can't take this. If we are going to do, let's go and get it done. I want to get it done asap. I can't do it this month (work and vacation - not giving that up as we have waited 3 years). But I can zip right in the first week of July and be off for the week. I would get out of my sil's crazy wedding to deal with. Dh is going out of town for 5 weeks. So if this is it, go for it and get it over with. In the meantime, I am taking a painkiller round the clock to help. Gosh I can't believe my lap only lasted 8 months. Stupid cyst. On the good news, I'll a) be able to find out exactly what is going on b) get rid of any adhesions at that time c) still be within that 6 month good to go window for ttc. It took me all weekend to get used to the idea of having a lap again. Now I am used to it, I want to get it done and get it over with. UGGGGH. So let's see what my ob says.
