Most women like me have endometriosis along with IBS. You have to watch what you eat, or suffer the consequences. It sucks! I seem to notice that if I eat greasy food or a lot of chocolate before my period, my IBS is worse and so are my cramps! My bowels contract so hard along with my uterus and it feels like I'm in labor or something. I think the foods we crave during our period actually may make it worse. My aunt said she was having symtoms like this too, and told me to try Bentyl, an anti-spazmotic medicine for your bowels. It does help a lot with my bowel contractions, but does little for my PMS cramps. But, it could work better for you. The only side effect I've had from it is it makes me a little drowsy after I take it. Taking the Bentyl and watching what you eat before your period should make a big difference. Good Luck to you! :)
