Hi -

It's a good idea to ask your doctor for the prescription for your after-surgery pain meds and fill it before the lap. It would really suck to have to go to the pharmacy in pain to get them afterwards!

The Endo Research Center has a good publication on what to expect from a laparoscopy and tips on how to prepare available free through their yahoo group (which requires membership). The group is also a really good source of information and support for women with endo. Look in the "files" section: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/erc/

Natalie - you should also let your doctor know about your fears! I'm sure they've had plenty of patients whose nerves were getting the best of them before surgery. One thing that helped me feel better about being "put out" was that I met the anesthesiologist at my pre-op and was able to talk with him for a few minutes, maybe that's possible for you, too?

Good luck!
