Hello Natalie....well i totally UNDERSTAND you because i felt the same way you did a few weeks ago. I am 24 and I just had my diagnostic lap done on April 20, and i was a nervous wreck! LOL! And to be honest w/you it wasnt bad AT ALL! That last week before surgery i also had nightmares and i couldnt get the dam surgery off my mind. Especially the day & night before, i only slept a few hour the night before. And like you i had never had a surgery in my life. So, i was more nervous abouty being put to sleep than the ACTUAL surgery. But to make the story short, my surgery wasnt long only about 1 hr and next thing i knew i was awake! You will have some pain, but at least for me it wasnt excruciating, as long as i took my pain meds, i was ok. The gas pain in my shoulder didnt kick in till the next morning, but it was more of a discomfort more than anything. I know everyone is different, but i was expecting the worse after surgery and let me tell you, it wasnt bad at all. The only different thing i would do next time, would be to take a few more days off from work. I went back on my 5th day of recovery and i had to go home early that day. To all of this i was diagnosed at stage 3 which is moderate. I do suffer of pain all freaken month and my next step is Lupron. :( Which ive heard many horrible stories, but i pray it works for me at least for a lil while, im so desperate to have a few days of PAIN FREE. I just had my first period after my lap, and that was a lil painful than usual, but its normal to have a painful period after a lap. Just take your meds as directed and dnt wait until the pain has escalated. I know this might not help ease your nervousness, but i totally understand where your coming from. Sorry for the long story. LOL Steph :) P.S. This is a great forum, its helped me SO MUCH!!
