I'm having my second lap the same day May 16. I wouldn't worry too much. If it wasn't for the fact that after the surgery they gave me morphine, and it turns out I'm allergic to it, My first one would have been fine.

Me and my husband plan on going out to dinner the night before and have some good eating because the only annoying thing about the morning of surgery is the no eating or drinking. As for going under, you really shouldn't remember much. All I do is that they gave me a shot and I fell asleep. The next thing I knew I was waking up. You might feel a little short of breath when you first wake up from the anastetic but it goes away pretty quickly.

I had to stay overnight to make sure I didn't have any more reaction to the morphine, but the worst part of the recovery was the back pain from the excess gas in your abdomine. Just get someone to rub bengay on your back and it really helps. I was back at work in about 5 or 6 days. This time mine is going to be a little more extensive and they probably have to take out my ovary so I plan on being out for the count a little longer. Since we are having it on the same day if you want we can recover together. My home e-mail is not_enough_monkeys@yahoo.com, feel free to send me an e-mail with any other questions.
