Help Doctors Given up on meFrom: Kate (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed May 9 05:13:58 2007
Hi Everyone I've basically had Endo since I was 16 but was only Diagnosed when I was 21, for years the docs put me on a contsant stream of pain meds and the pill, without any breaks, then I was given a newish pill (well it was then) in injection form where it controls my period for a solid 3 months with no more pills to pop, they kept me on this for about 9 months to a year, until the doc was scared of causing long term effects with it, and so she then put me on to the Implanon, (which is great and do recommend), the implanon (for those who do not know) is basically the pill in a stick shape that is inserted into your arm and it last for 3 years. Well I'm coming up to my 3rd year, and it's not working as well as it should, and my Doctor has given me till december when the implant comes out to pick either having a coil inserted (which lasts 5yrs) or to get pregnant. Now I happen to be engaged, and I'm due to get married 3 months after the implant comes out, and I do want to try and start to have a family, but the doctor has said that if I pick family then she is not going to give me anything, nothing to control the bleeding or the pain, but I don't want to start a family until after I'm married so I'm either going to be having a period on my wedding day and NIGHT and in pain walking down the aisle or I'm going to be 3 months pregnant walking down the aisle and I don't want either. There has to be other alternatives? I don't want to be TOLD when I can have a family because it may OR MAY NOT cure my endo as theres a big chance that it might come back. I want to have a family when I'm ready and not when it's forced upon me by my doctor. Do anyone have any ideas or alternatives that can help? At this stage I think that I'd probably try anything Thanks in advance Kate
