Dealing with Endo Diagnosis

From: Jen (anonymous@obgyn.net)

Hi...My husband and I have been trying to concieve for several years now without any luck. I finally went to a reproductive endocrinologist. I had also been having other problems...very bad menstrual cramps, pain when going to the bathroom, pain during intercourse, diarreah, etc. I also had cysts on my left ovary. The specialist examed me and did an internal sonogram to check my ovaries. She said they cysts are endometriomas and she is pretty sure that I have endometriosis. This was hard to hear, but yet gave me some hope since it could be the reason for all the pain I was having associated with my period. I am now scheduled for surgery on May 30th. I am just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to deal with endo and any info about what the laproscopic surgery is like. I just don't know what to expect from here. I am hoping that having the surgery will alleviate the pain that I am having and also allow me to concieve. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
