Re: Lap done today and NOT GIVEN ANY PAIN MEDSFrom: Trisha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon Apr 30 04:13:30 2007
Any dr. who would refuse pain meds after surgery, in my mind, doesn't believe our pain and does not care about his patients. Yes, there are plenty of patients who come to their dr.'s or to their local ER just in search of pain meds when they don't need them, (I work in a hospital and am referring to general public-not endo patients), but this is not the same! It is obsurd to think that one wouldn't be in pain after they have been cut up and had their insides messed with. I envy those that can take some naproxen, ibuprofen or motrin and have it work. I have tried that on many, many occasions and it never worked for me. When I was younger and had the horrible pain but wasn't diagnosed with endo I would follow the dr.'s instructions to start taking these anti-inflammatorys a few days before my period-heck I even tried taking it 2 weeks before the start of my period and never once did it even put a dent in my pain. So Tracey, I'm with you and like you I havn't heard of a patient not getting anything. For the original poster, I hope you found someone who was willing to help you.
