Re: Bloating

Changing your diet can help sometimes - wheat and dairy are a couple of the first things people usually try eliminating to see if it makes a difference. It takes about a week to begin to see if it will make a difference. I found that Beano really does help with the gas (and not just with beans!), and that can relieve some of the bloating, too.

If I get constipated the bloating gets worse, too, and I've noticed that some pain meds are worse on that than others. I started morphine a couple months ago it really slowed my intestines down - suddenly I needed stool softeners daily, and I was more bloated, too. About a week ago my pain doctor increased my other pain meds and had me stop the morphine - within a couple days I could feel a difference was able to stop taking the stool softeners.

Sometimes though it doesn't matter what I eat or do - I can't seem to make it better, and even eating stuff that is supposed to be "bad" doesn't always make it worse. I guess that's not much help!
