Re: Newly Diagnosed...Just WonderingFrom: Debbie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun Apr 29 20:46:27 2007
Hello and welcome. Your feelings are not unusual. I can identify with them. I'm sorry you've been diagnosed but welcome to this club anyway. At least you know that we understand, even if others do not. Most people seem to think of Endo as just some "women's problem" but really have no idea what it involves. Once you educate them though, they will have a better understanding so do as much reading and research as you can, not just to help them understand, but to help you too. Even my partner has said that it gets really old hearing me complain about the pain, but I remind her that it's not as tedious as actually suffering with that pain, month after month after month. It's hard to convey that this thing is for life and that it doesn't go away. At the end of the day, people really don't care, but it's up to you to have a positive attitude and approach this disease with a feeling that you are going to control it, not let it control you. Good luck
