Hi Tracey & Ladies~
Yes...that pain is the worst. Tracey said the magic words. The endo on
the ureters hurts like $%^#$#!!! :) It's not in your heads, I promise! I
think it's great your Dr. told you this and didn't try to do more
urologically then they can handle. I have had good luck with Endo
Specialists who work with Urologists and Colo-rectal Dr.'s who
specializes with endo as well. Together they can make a plan and
dissect that endo off since it's a delicate area.
You will notice the difference that much is true. With cycles it seems
to swell up and those areas get really constricted as they are cycling
too. UTI's auh...yes...all the time during these bouts. Then the colon
get's involved too with the medicines and the endo and you have two
things going on at the same time. This was just me, but finally I had
to cease those cycles after my surgery with consecutive BCP's because
Lupron and Synarel was not an avenue I was willing to do again. They
did help in the beginning to shrink those areas for surgery but that is
as far as I was willing to go again in this lifetime. The ureter used
to get so bad because that endo was like cement by time they got in
there that I would end up getting ureteral stents placed every 6 weeks
just to keep it open because that pain from the bladder to the kidney
was the worst. Your pain is VERY REAL. I am sorry you are going
through this.
I hope this helps some. I know we are all different but I am happy they
did give you this piece of information because it can help in moving you
forward and relieving that pain down a bit. I am not sure about
re-growth because we are all different. My did grow back but it took 8
years so that's not bad considering and I did it with a laparotomy. The
first time I did it was via scope and it grew back withiin 4 years. That
ureter is so delicate so I would (again this is just me :) use the
surgery to your best advantage and only once if you can in those areas.
Hang in there. If the pain get's unbearable take your surgical report
with you to your Dr. (if you saw a different one) and or the ER until
you get to a new Endo Specialist who works closley with these areas.
Wishing you all good luck! Hang in there!!
Thinking of you...
