Candice I appreciate your response-I have considered the immune system
being at least part of the issue. I have been taking my antibiotics as
perscribed-in full. Also-perhaps some family history might help as well
I am 28 and have had endo for 11 years. My mother had a hysterectomy at
the age of 24-she had a grapefruit size tumor-they told her the possible
cause was reccurent UTI's, in those days they couldn't pinpoint the
exact reason. My paternal grandmother was just 26-she had cancer that
had affected her whole reproductive system, and when she was 58 was also
diagnosed with breast cancer, and had a mastectomy. My maternal
grandmother was 33 when she had her hysterectomy-she also had 10
kids-later in her life she also had cancer in her colon,intestines, gall
bladder, and just recently skin cancer-so the family history of cancer
in general-not to mention cancer of the cervix or ovaries is huge in our
family. It has been 5 years since my last lap-the regular symptoms I
have always had with endo are still there: speradic periods-lasting only
while urinating the first day-the second and third days the flow is very
heavy, and the pain so immense-I do not want to get out of the bed-have
to because I have to go to work, or take care of my kids. Then it will
just stop for a day and then it will come back heavy again for a few
days. Like I said the pain-cramps, bloating, irritability-is awful-but
for me-it has been my reality for the last 13 years +, so I have lived
with it in silence-but these reccurent uti's for the past 15 months-make
me confused as to where all the pain is coming from-is it from my
period-usually onset by or worsened by my period, or is it from the
uti's themselves. I can't help but think there isn't some link, and I
am not ruling out seeing a urologist-if it doesn't seem to be the
problem-I will go, but being I have waited 15 months since the onset of
these problems-if it is endo-and it was bad the last time-if I wait
until after my next 2 or 3 urology appointments-what happens if I could
have prevented how far it has gone. I did compose a letter to my obgyn,
and mailed it today, I did include many different possibilities-my
husband and I passing it back and forth, the endo, ic-and the fact that
maybe he should refer me to a urologist. I do appreciate your feedback,
as well as anyone else that can help. Thanks.
