Yes, you are not crazy - this is what pain does when it goes undertreated, it causes depression. It is actually a normal response to pain! It may be that people don't get it - it's hard for others to understand because they can't see the pain, and most have never experienced anything like it. Sometimes you have to be strong and know that what you are feeling is very real, and very difficult, and you aren't alone - it does stink! One thing you can do is keep a pain diary and record your pain levels and symptoms, what you take or do for it, and how well it works. Take it to your doctor and show them so they can see how the pain is impacting your life, and hopefully they'll give you some help, or refer you to a pain management specialist. If not, you may need a new doctor. In the long run, finding a doctor who can thoroughly excise the disease will give you your best chance for relief, but that can take time. In the meantime, please do get some help for the pain - no one should have to suffer this way.
