Long term use of Zoladex - any views?

Hi everyone,

I'm 34 and one year ago I discovered that I have severe endo. I had a lap but it didn't remove all the disease. I still have endo remaining in my rectum, appendix and left ovary (removal of which would require nasty bowel resections and possible loss of the ovary, so I've been advised to avoid further surgery for now).

I've been on Zoladex for about 5 months, which has helped heaps with pain relief. But I have to decide what to do at the six month mark. Usual practice seems to be to go off Zoladex and take the pill. However my gynae also offered the option of remaining on Zoladex (or Synarel) but taking HRT to protect my bones.

I am worried about osteoperosis and also whether this artificial menopausal state would be bad for my health in the long term. (Not that endo is good for me!!) Does anyone have any views about long term use of Zoladex/Synarel?

I can't wait for menopause - but I've got many years to go before it comes naturally.

thanks
