Re: A question about YazFrom: Jennifer (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri Apr 13 09:49:46 2007
I am not on Yaz, I am on Yazmin. Regardless you still have to have a period every 3 months. I am planning on going off of Yazmin, I have tolerated other pills quite well and this one gives me terrible nausea. I don't get as bad of migraines with this one as I did in the past. The depression isn't as bad as others also . I certainly have no desire to have sex and that is new. I asked to be put on Yaz instead of Yazmin. And my doc told me that the other endo pts she treats tolerate Yazmin much better than Yaz, and the pills that they are advertising with 3 day periods don't always work for all women as promised. She said that unless you have a regularly short period that the 3 day period promise is unlikely. I have resorted to changing my diet and exercising a lot more to help with the issues I have been having with my endo. I still plan on getting 2 more opinions on the most recent surgery. But at this point I definately need to get off of Yazmin. Of course everyone tolerates meds differently and you should at least give it a go for a few months to see if it helps if that is what your doctor suggested you take. My doc suggested to me to help with the nausea to take it before bed to help reduce the chance of it bothering me. I tried that and it didn't make a difference for me. It might for others though. Good luck.
