Elissa I too always had a weak immune system as a child and continue to as an adult. I did not start my period until 17 and wasn't diagnosed with endo until 27. My sister is 10 years younger and is suspected to have endo. She has not gone as far as the diagnostic surgery yet as the bcp's seem to be keeping symptoms in check for now. Interestingly I am convinced my mother had endo. She was unable to conceive for almost 8 years, had horrible periods. At 28 she was rushed to surgery with an orange sized cyst on one ovary and several cysts on the other. This was in the 70's before they had ultra sound and before endometriosis was even talked about. They actually thought she had cancer. They took one ovary and half of the other and described the masses as blood cysts. She became pregnant with me not long after the surgery. She continued to have awful periods and alot of pain right up to menopause. Obviously it is hard to say one way or the other now, but I really think she did have endo. Her sister also had a hysterectomy for adenomyosis. Alyson
