Re: Anyone been treated by Dr. Camran Nezhat in Palo Alto? From: Elisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Apr 5 20:37:08 2007
Hi Laura~ I haven't seen him personally but I did get treated by his brothers Farr and Ceana in Atlanta in 1994. They where the first ones to FIND endo on my ureters especially that right one that had been giving me obstruction problems since 1990. When the general ob/gyn's and urologists said that endo can't get in that area I finally flew out of state after sending my films to them and had a consult and surgery and can't say enough about their efforts and work. While I don't go with the laparoscopes anymore because of my problems with dense scarring etc, if it wasn't for them my poor right kidney wouldn't have been able to take much more. It's nice to see so many articles written by them and to take this information on my case to my new Endo Specialist and they can go from there. One thing I wanted to mention since their name has come up here that no one told me until I read an article by them that some and I say some of us women who donate our kidneys (because we loose them for whatever reason through this medical madness) should be very careful in being donators for organs or certain organs. I am getting ready for surgery and one of the team urologist mentioned that the area where I have extensive retroperitoneal fibrosis becomes problematic or the colon (this is just the pre-warning advice given) is caught up in that area and something should happen that I should be advised that I could loose my right kidney. I went home and thought about it and pulled out the Nezhat's articles and wouldn't you know that men have been accidently given endo because of kidney donations from women with endo. I never even thought about this and when I reapproach the Urologist on my team I said please leave it in tact and I will NOT be donating it and passing this disease on to anyone else and if I have to make a HUGE decision like that I want to get back to the Dr. who reconfigured my bladder in the past due to endo instead of taking this lightly and offering it up to someone else. He even admitted they never thought about that either. Sometimes we forget how other organs can be effected and here I have on my licence to donate my organs. Now I will be specific on my renewal that anything from the heart up may possibly be usable. So, I really do appreciate the hard efforts and research of the Nezhat's. I have to imagine that Cameron is just as hard working as his other brothers but checking the search engines is a great idea because as with anything there are pro's and cons. Good Luck! I hope you find that specialist your looking for :) Thinking of you...
