endo specialistFrom: ada (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu Apr 5 12:35:25 2007
I went to my doctor yesterday after having days of severe lower back pain, running low grade fevers, stabbing pains. I had a lap last may and at the time was diagnosed with stage 3 endo, adenomyosis and pelvic congestion. He said yesterday he feels my uterus needs to come out due to adeno. It was EXTREMELY tender to the touch. He said it appears to be more enlarged since last may and he feels a lot of my pain could be coming from the adeno. I do agree (i think). However, if I am going to go in for surgery I would like to consult with a specialist to possibly do the surgery and have any endo excised at the same time. My doctor burns off the endo and I am scared that the endo will keep growing and I will be looking at surgery again.I plan to keep my ovaries if at all possible, I am 38 and really do not want to do hrt, and my doctor is in complete agreement. I live in a suburb of New Orleans and am willing to travel. I know about the CEC in Atlanta, but was curious if anyone knew of a specialist in Houston (they have such a large medical community). It would be easier for me as I have family I could stay with. Any thoughts? Thank you all!!!
