Re: question about post-LupronFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netWed Mar 28 19:31:29 2007
Lupron greatly reduces estrogen production. It tends to start coming back about a month after the last 3.75 mg shot...but it can take another month to get "normal levels" and up to six months to get a normal period back. Unfortunatly the uterine mucous and maybe the lining take both estrogen and a good bit of time under it's influence to develop. In rare cases Lupron can cause pitutary apolexy (spelling?), meaning that it can damage the pituatry which releases GNRH, which governs estrogen production. I'm not sure if this is something that can be evaluated directly. The whole Lupron thing makes me mad...I had a terriable experience with it. Jenn
