hey cookie,

been there done that 20 years ago! so sorry to hear that some things haven't changed. all i can say is persist...maybe if it's in your medical chart that you both want to get a hysto and stop the pain eventually someone will listen. documentation is big...symptoms, how it limits your life, what you've tried, everything...document everything...never forget this is YOUR body. that said, understand this...there was a time i can dimly remember when dr's had the reputation of being knife happy and wht you are experiencing now might be backlash against the bad old days of, you don;t need that thing so let's get rid of it! at one time some dr's did hysto's almost routinely if what i read was true...anyway they're learning new stuff all the time so keep watching and ask (bug) your dr to try whatever looks promising...if he doesn;t want to treat you with a hysterectomy (God only knows why!) then dammit, insist that they treat the endo some kind of way!

really it's unconsionable that there is an effective alternative available to stop your suffering and they won't help you go there...because you're too young to know what you want and you might regret it later? if that's what they're trying to sell you, how bout telling them, i'm too ypung to live the rest of my life in pain, and i refuse to have a baby jsut to try to relieve the pain?

finally getting the hysterectomy i have needed for 20 years in less than a month, can't wait.

try to find a dr that is closer to your own age, maybe s/he won;t feel entitled to push that "you're too young to have a hysto" crap.

rant rant rant

good luck
