Re: Ticked with a Question.From: Erica (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed Feb 28 18:05:09 2007
Obviously he doesn't know much about endo if he's saying it doesn't cause chronic pain! Are you kidding me? I'm wondering if this was a fertility specialist since he's not concerned with you level of pain but only for those who want to get pregnant-as if this is the only important thing in life! Second of all to suggest alternating megace and lupron for 15 years until you hit menopause is ludacris. The max dosage for Lupron is 6 months and you are not supposed to exceed that! What if Megace didn't work for you or you developed side effects as I did-what is his alternatives? I have a normal GY that I trust completely. He may not be a specialist but there aren't really any endo specialists where I live in VA. I was referred to an infertility specialist to help with my long term treatment but I found that she wasn't interested in all at managing my symptoms and I quickly stopped seeing her and giving her any of my money. I don't think it would hurt to see a normal GY but make sure you find a good one! Talk to people and then when you go see him/her find out their experience with people with endo. I would suggest looking for other endo specialists but that would be assuming there are some in your area. Have you considered alternative treatments to accompany and medical treatment?
