Re: What have your experiences with Lupron been?

Hi,

I'm not surprised that your doctor recommended Lupron. Its pretty much the strongest drug out there right now for reducing endo symptoms and other things like prostate cancer. I highly encourage you to do the research-do not assume your doctor knows everything there is to know about this drug and its side effects. In doing the research I encourage you to not only read the side effects but go to the original clinical studies and look at the number of people who experienced positive results and those who had side effects. The first time I tried Lupron (2 injections) I had mostly terrible mood swings and went off of it b/c I was driving myself crazy and those around me. I gave it another try a year later and two injections later I developed severe joint pain practically over night. I'm still dealing with the joint pain two months after I have stopped treatment. I did experience some pelvic pain relief but am constantly worried it will return b/c Lupron is not a cure. The joint pain I got from the drug surpassed the endo pain I felt which was unbelievable to me. I feel like I'm 70 years old sometimes because my joints will start hurting for no reason and sometimes it hurts to walk. Look through the posts here in the forum you will see that many others unfortunately are dealing with this. I too have tailbone pain that emerged after my Lupron injections. I wish you the best of luck.. my point is not to discourage you. I like you was looking for anything to make me better and I had done the research. I just underestimated the joint pain that others reported.. now I understand and feel it is my duty to let others know. My doctor did not warn me of the joint pain-I found that out here and on many other websites. When I reported it to him he said he'd never seen it that severe before. However b/c I did the research I could inform him that it is a common side effect. Best of luck to you! Feel free to ask any questions you may have..
