Re: Anyone get fevers? - Sweating and Hot

This thread got me interested, and I did some googling and found a few
sites talking about cancer pain where they say that pain can cause one
to perspire. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information about
the exact mechanism that causes the excess sweating, just that it's a
nervous system response. I hadn't put it together before, but I do have
more problems with sweating when my pain levels are higher.
Oh yeah, and it does have a scientific name - "hyperhidrosis".
Here are a few sites that briefly mention that pain can cause
perspiration, they have other good info about pain, too (they are
talking about cancer pain, but I haven't found much reason to believe
that cancer pain is so different from endo pain):

http://www.hospicenet.org/html/what_is_pain.html
and here's a page about excessive sweating:

I have trouble with nausea related to pain, and I'm starting to feel
that pain is expressed in many ways beyond how we typically understand
and perceive it. I think it's more than just "felt" by the brain, pain
also seems to effect how the body functions.
Inflammation can also cause white blood count to increase, with or
without infection, and I think that it's probably more often the
inflammation causing the raised WBCs than an actual infection. I just
don't understand what the heck would be getting infected all the time?
(I don't have cysts) But the inflammation I can understand a lot more
easily...
I see my pain doctor for my monthly visit tomorrow afternoon and I'm
going to ask him what he knows, too.
