I don't understand why they want to do a bowel resection when they found nothing on any of the GI tests? They removed your uterus and ovaries, but that didn't work so now they want to remove part of your apparently healthy colon? It sounds like you may have endo on your bowel - the good endo specialists can often excise endo from the bowel without needing to do a resection. I would definitely go for the lap first, but IMHO you need to see a specialist. Most OBGYNs don't have the skills to deal with endo on the intestines - there's a link at the bottom of this to the "endodocs" yahoo group and it's a good place to find a good doc.
