Re: Can't go to the bathroom-... beware of this!

I had a lap and couldn't go to the bathroom for 2 weeks, and some of my family was in from out of town- so we were eating out 3 meals a day. Taco bell, Lone Star and something new 3 meals a day. So I felt like I had to go, but it hurt so bad. I sat down and tried for so long one time, and I actually pushed my rectum out and I was 21 years old at the time. Just to warn you- vicodin or any pain killer and especially combined with the surgery creates extreme constipation and hardening of the stools. So getting a strong laxative and taking a day to yourself would probably be a wise idea for anyone who has gotten a lap recently and cannot go. I think I took too many pain killers trying to not ruin my family's time visiting me. It was a nightmare of a situation and hurt extremely bad, made me faint, and was unbelieavbly embarrassing. Also, make sure you are hydrated it will help to soften the stool a little. Just don't push to hard!
