Re: Anyone here Trying to conceive?

Hi AmyD,

I haven't been here in awhile either... I'm going to be 38 years old soon and I've been trying to conceive for over 3 years, 2 surgeries, Lupron, chinese herbs, etc.. no luck. I was looking into IVF, and was going to go forward, but it turns out that my eggs are pretty old and I would only have an 8% chance of conceiving with my own eggs. I could use donor eggs, but I'm just sooo tired of all of this, I can't go through this anymore. I don't think I could handle spending a fortune on fertility, and then having a possible miscarriage. So, after much consideration, my husband and I are going to adopt. I found a great agency, and in the next month or so, I'm going to get the paperwork started. It took me awhile to come to terms with the fact that I can't have a child on my own, but now, I'm okay with it. I never thought this would happen to me, even when diagnosed with endo. I just thought I would overcome the odds. I've learned a lot through all of this, but more than anything, that my health is the most important thing. I've already peri-menopausal at a young age, so my endo is actually getting better. So, at least I can look forward to having less pain. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck, and hope you don't have to go through what I've been through for the last 3 years!! Take care!!! --- Linda At Tue, 13 Feb 2007, AmyD wrote: >
